About the event
This ritual is repeated every month at Calverton National Cemetery, honoring the veterans interred there in the preceding month who had no one in attendance at their funerals.
The NOA service, as it is known — for “no one in attendance” — has been carried out at the national cemetery for nearly a decade. It is attended by veterans, Gold Star parents, friends and family members of military personnel both living and deceased, by a small contingent of men who bury the veterans.
We sometimes meet at Sayville VFW Post 433, kickstands up at about 9, and then ride to the National Cemetery.
Meeting point can change as to other VFW posts as needed, contact us for updates.
